Finding Balance
by Linda Potter
A question often asked is “how does a person gather past life information from a hypnosis session?” I make sure to explain that it is different for everyone, as the information either comes in visually or in a manner of sensing. It’s a concept very easy to understand once it is fully explained. It is this process that enables each of us to retrieve past life experiences that have a direct connection to our current life.
It began as any other past life regression. Carmen and I sat across from one and other discussing the process that was about to take place. She had some particular issues she wanted to address, one of them being her need to slow down in life and not continually take on so much responsibility. It seemed that she could never say no. Carmen would help others beyond the point that was healthy for her to do. She was allowing herself to be taxed more than what she could physically and emotionally handle.
Carmen said she felt as if she always had “too many irons in the fire” and yet, couldn’t stop herself from taking on more. It had started to impact her life in a negative way and she was hoping a past life regression might shine a light on the reason why.
It was time to begin Carmen’s past life regression and locate the point of origin of her issue. As Carmen began to relax, it became evident that she would attain a deep state of hypnosis rather quickly. Her body language said it all and it was then that the information started to flow.
She began to get very specific images of an early European life. Carmen saw herself as a young aristocratic woman by the name of Simone, born into a life of wealth and privilege. Simone’s days consisted of being pampered by her hand maidens and strolling about the gardens of her family’s estate. She would often entertain her lady friends during afternoon tea and organize lavish dinner parties.
Simone never married. She found the comfort and security of her home and family all she ever needed or desired. She had absolutely no responsibilities other than her social agenda of entertaining friends.
Simone lived to be an old woman and it was toward the end of her life that she began to realize just how she never really did anything of significance in her life. She hadn’t taken opportunities to help others either financially or with her time and she had an abundance of both.
Great regret and sadness overtook Simone during her last days. She genuinely wished she was able to do her life over again. She felt she should have helped others and recognized that she missed so many opportunities to do so. It wasn’t long after this revelation that Simone passed away a much pampered woman at the age of 71 years.
Carmen could see clearly how her past life experience of extreme leisure and self indulgence had created the current life drive to always be helpful and overly responsible. The view of her past life and the perspective it gave regarding her current life was the healing key.
Now Carmen is seeking a balance with her desire to help others. She is aware of the importance of not taking on so much responsibility. She realizes it is beneficial and important for her not to extend herself beyond what is emotionally and physically comfortable. She understands that part of her life’s purpose is to attain that balance.
In each life we hone the wheel of evolvement. We have different life experiences which bring many different challenges for us to work through. Each time we learn a life lesson or find a way to cope with our given challenges, we gain precious emotional knowledge that will be with us long after this life.
