The Bond of a Past Life

Have you ever glanced into someone’s eyes for the first time and felt some
kind of connection? It’s a simple glance that brings on a familiar feeling, a
feeling that you’ve known them from somewhere, but you know you’ve never met
them — at least in this life. I think you will find the story of Diane and Danny
an interesting one.
A similar experience may have happened to you or someone you know. It certainly
puts the relationships we have with others in a very unique light.
Danny is a ballroom dance instructor and a very handsome man. Diane has always
had a love for dancing and decided to look into taking lessons. She stopped by
the community center to inquire about the dance classes they were offering.
Ballroom music filled the hallway as Diane approached the entrance to the
community centers’ makeshift ballroom. Danny had just finished saying good night
to the last of his students when his eyes met Diane’s. He immediately introduced
himself and welcomed her with a warm smile and as they shook hands, she would
remark later that the chemistry between them was undeniable. She referred to the
handshake as two lightening bolts connecting.
What Danny did next will live on in Diane’s head forevermore. He invited her
onto the dance floor to sample a bit of instruction. To her it felt as if it
were a scene from a movie, a moment so magic it seemed as if they were the only
two people in existence. There was no resisting; the music and his touch lifted
her into the stratosphere. There was no question; she would be signing up for
lessons that night.
The feelings Diane was coping with were totally unexpected. After all, she was a
very happily married woman with a family and had never looked outside her
married relationship for any reason.
That night as she left the community center, she was perplexed as to how she had
been so swept off her feet with these feelings of lust ... or was it love? It
was a connection that she would come to understand during her hypnosis session.
Diane had a keen interest in the idea of past-life regression, and as she gave
her situation more thought, she decided it was the perfect time to get some
answers. As is the routine, I prepared Diane very thoroughly for the meditative
journey she was about to embark upon.
When I asked her what brought her into the regression room, she said that among
other things, she’d had a love for ballroom dancing ever since she could
remember and would love to know if there was any past life connection.
As part of my routine questioning, I asked Diane if she was attracted to any
particular country. She said she always had a love for England; in fact, she was
planning a trip to London at the end of the year and was very excited about it.
Easing into a wonderful, relaxed state, Diane found herself drifting back in
time. It was at this point that I asked her if she’d had a past life related to
her love of ballroom dancing in this life. She was quiet a moment and then began
to explain what she was seeing.
Diane was awestruck when she saw herself as a young woman dressed in a beautiful
ball gown made of layers upon layers of flowing, fine white cloth. Her name was
Katherine and she was in London, England. She said there was a celebration of
some kind going on and many people were in attendance.
She felt so special as she stood with the other lady dancers in the middle of a
very large dance floor. Music began to play and, like a choreographed scene, the
men stepped onto the dance floor, pairing themselves with each of the young
women.
As Katherine stood there, the young man she was paired with began to walk toward
her. Like the others, he was dressed handsomely, in formal attire. He was so
dashing and handsome and his smile was so warm.
She knew she was in love with him, deeply. And the music carried them into the
night with endless dancing and enjoyment beyond what Diane could express.
I asked Diane if the young man she was paired with looked familiar to her. I
told her to look into his eyes; while we all look physically different in each
life, it is our eyes that reveal who we are on a soul level. Her words were, “Oh
my god! It’s him, Danny, my new ballroom instructor. No wonder I feel the way I
do about him!”
As Diane gathered more details of this past life, she discovered that she was
most definitely a dancer in the past life. Her parents were very wealthy, and
the celebration she entered into during her past-life regression was her
engagement party.
It was a lavish affair that included ballroom dancing as part of the celebration
of Katherine’s upcoming marriage to the handsome young man. That life turned out
like a fairytale, as Katherine married and did live happily ever after.
When Diane’s session was over, we discussed the connections she had made and
what to do with them. I explained to her that the information she gathered is
quite valuable in that it explains why her feelings are so strong toward Danny.
I also explained that it is important to remember that her deep love for him
comes from the past life, not her current one. In this life, they are two very different
people leading two very different lives. She is happily married and as it turns
out, he is, too.
Understanding where the connection and the deep feelings come from can enable
you to put a current life relationship in proper perspective. The knowledge you
gain regarding past-life relationships can help you to make conscious choices
that can have life-altering results.
